I had nothing on mind when my daughter and I had a snack at Le Coeur de France. I opted to just order what I am familiar with - pasta primavera. It was good. It did not disappoint. Creamy. When in doubt or there's nothing particular on mind, go for the usual, the standard.

Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies

28 April 2008

There was a birthday celebration at the office last week and the catering was just super. As expected, birthday cakes abounded as gifts but everybody raved at the caramel cake from Estrel's.

I craved for it since then. So this afternoon after my trip to the salon, we headed to Scout Tobias, Quezon City with all the intention of buying a cake.

But to my disappointment, there was no cake available anymore at Estrel's. Everything on display were pre-ordered and all their buffer stocks for the day were already sold out. It was only around two in the afternoon mind you.

Hubby and daughter at Estrel's Caramel Cakes bakeshop.

Estrel's Caramel Cakes along Scout Tobias, Quezon City.

My daughter settled for the chocolate chip walnut cookies on the shelf so we bought some. And it was a good thing we did! Delicious. Not overly sweet, not too hard. The taste of the chocolate cookie and the walnut are distinct and they complement each other. This cookie is at par, if not better, than Mrs. Fields.

These cookies saved our afternoon craving for some good snack. :D

They look good :) I like them especially when they're individually.
Mrs Fields cookies are somehow kinda sweet for my liking.

That's too bad. Missing out on Estrel's, that is. My friends love them too. I don't actually, probably because I don't really like caramel.

yeah i must agree the caramel cake there is superb.

but the owner donna needs to make some attitude adjustment. while their cakes are really to die for and pre-ordered, it does not give her the right to be too proud saying that they are not commercialized bakeshop.
hahaha. ooops. but in fairness, her employees are way friendly.
my officemate (who's pregnant) had a not so good conversation with her over the phone.

Estrel's caramel cake is a wonderful cake. so yummy and fresh. Yup, order first before you go. During the Christmas season, they even refuse orders so better get an order very very early in the season, haha.

I missed you in the iBlog4 Lynn.
